Each day at Cascadia Running Camp follows a consistent rhythm that balances running, learning, recovery, and connection. Athletes start the day with a morning run or movement session, followed by skill work and a mental performance session. Afternoons include the main training run or workout, small-group discussions, and recovery time. Evenings are for dinner, camp activities, and reflection.
Days are structured to support both performance and personal growth, with time spent in team groups and cross-team “Camp Squads,” so athletes leave feeling stronger, more confident, and more connected.
An example day looks like this:

Athletes should come prepared for running, outdoor living, and recovery. A detailed packing list will be sent closer to camp, but essentials include:
Tent (if they have one; campers may share if needed)
Sleeping bag and sleeping pad
Running shoes (plus a backup pair if possible)
Weather-appropriate running clothes (layers for warmth and rain)
Casual clothes and pajamas
Toiletries and towel
Refillable water bottle
Daypack for runs and activities
Journal and pen/pencil
Any required medications (labeled, with instructions)
Sunscreen and bug spray
Optional but encouraged:
Foam roller or massage stick
Warm blanket or extra layers for evenings
A favorite small comfort item (book, photo, stuffed animal)
Athletes do not need to bring headphones, or valuables, and phone use will be limited during camp activities. Our goal is to help athletes unplug, be present, and fully engage in the camp experience.
A full packing checklist will be provided before camp to ensure everyone feels prepared.
If you need assistance accessing gear, contact us via the Contact Us page and we will help overcome any barriers to equipment so you can participate.

Our staff is certified in CPR and first aid, and we maintain a low camper-to-coach ratio for close supervision. We also follow safety protocols for heat, hydration, and equipment use. Allergies and medical needs are documented and closely monitored.

Cascadia Running Camp operates rain or shine, and we are prepared for typical Pacific Northwest weather. Programming may be adjusted for safety, including modified run routes, indoor or covered activities, and additional recovery time as needed.
If weather conditions become unsafe, camp leadership will make adjustments to ensure athlete safety and will communicate any significant changes with families. Safety is always our top priority.
